Halloween

We love Halloween at the Cottle house. Although I am ashamed to admit, we did not take a picture of Brady and I in our Halloween costumes! I don't know how that happened! We went to a Halloween party and Brady was Nacho Libre and I was his girlfriend, the Nun. It was really funny, you will all just have to imagine it. Anywho, the kids had a great time. The weather was absolutely wonderful. So warm and light for what seemed like hours. Mitch wanted to go as a girl this year, so we figured what the heck, his dad was Cher a few years ago. Jaden was something like Joe dirt with tattoos, Kate was a vampire and Crew was a wolverine. They had a blast, but the thing that they were most excited about was the "Switch Witch." They got to put as much of their favorite candy in a sandwich size baggie, then the rest went in their pillow case (i made them all Halloween pillow cases the first of Oct. Shocking I know!) Then they placed them on the porch for the Switch Witch to come and switch their candy with something else. The first thing they did when they got up was run to the door and see what she left them. Jaden got a football, Kate got a webkin, Crew also got a football. They were so happy and so was mom and dad! It was a great Halloween, bring on the Holidays!!

Mitchell turns 13!!

I can't believe I have a teenager!! On Oct. 30 Mitchell turned the big 13! We had a great time celebrating his birthday. We went miniature golfing at a glow in the dark place that night. I told him we could go out to eat where ever he wanted, but he insisted I make his favorite meal. I really wanted to go out to eat if you moms know what I mean! Anywho, we ate went and played golf and came home to watch the Outsiders. Yes, it's that old movie with all the cute actors in it. He had read this book in a class of his and wanted to see the movie. We had a great night. We are so blessed to have him in our home. He is such a good example to Brady and I and his younger siblings. He is so fun to around and talk to. He has a contagious laugh and a sparkle in his eye when he smiles or does something mischievous. I can't believe he is growing up so fast! We love you Mitch!

Perfect Day for the Pumpkin Patch!

Today was Crews field trip to the pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We got to go on a hay ride all around the whole farm. We saw all kinds of animals, even a zebra! Then he got to go and find the "perfect" pumpkin. After we searched the whole pumpkin patch, we finally found just the right one! Then he got to go and run through a maze made out of hay. It is such a cute fun place to go. They serve donuts and hot chocolate. It's hard to believe this is the last time I will go to the pumpkin patch with a preschooler! I am having so much fun with Crew. I can't stop kissing him and loving on him! Sometimes I think I might chip a tooth when I am hugging him because I want to squeeze him so tight! I L-O-V-E being a mom!!

Kates Broken ankle!

Last Fri. Kate went over to her friends house for a birthday party. She was having such a fun time that is until she went out to jump on the tramp. I hate trampolines, they are so dangerous. (Yes, we have one, but I want to get ride of it!) Anyway, she was jumping with her little friends when the birthday girls dad got on to play and jump with the girls. He bounced Katelyn and she came down on another little girl and her ankle rolled underneath her. Her ankle immediately swelled up to the size of a baseball on the side of her foot. That is not a call a mother wants to get! I took her to the insta-care, it being late on a Fri. night of course! They took ex rays and because it was so swollen the doctor couldn't tell if it was broken. He was concerned because it looked like it was injured on the growth plate. So, we got the call today from an orthopedic doctor that looked at the ex ray and wanted to see her today. Needless to say it is broken right on the growth plate. Instead of a cast she has a big black boot to wear for the next 6-8 weeks. She will be getting ex rays the next couple of weeks to make sure it is healing right. She has been such a trooper! I think she must have a real high tolerance to pain. Say NO to trampolines!!

Preview of Halloween!

From now until Halloween, Crew is going to be in his costume. He wears it everywhere. Today he came down with his cowboy hat and cowboy boots on. It is so cute I just had to post it!

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL??

It wouldn't be Fall without football. Our weeks consist of practices every night for both boys and games all day Sat. It would have been pretty easy if both boys practiced at the same place, but instead they practice on opposite ends of the city at the SAME time. It is really fun especially when Brady is gone!

Mitch's team is doing really well, we start the play-offs this weekend. We are hoping they go all the way this year. Mitch is #33 and Jaden is #63.

Jadens team is struggling a little bit. 1-3 meaning they have won one game. Jaden gives it his all every game and does a great job. Jaden plays center and also is on defense. He loves to hit and lay guys out.

Better Late than Never

Here are the pictures of the kids on the first day of school. I was sad that summer was over and school had started, but now, I L-O-V-E school! They were all excited to go back to school and have loved it. Mitch is in 7th grade and is a ladies man. (scares me to death!) Jaden is in 5th grade and has many, many friends,(lots of whom are girls!) It's hard when you have such goodlookin boys! Kate is in 2nd grade and loving every minute of it. she chase boys at recess and I tell her,"No, we don't chase boys Kate, we let THEM chase us! She hasn't gotten that quite yet. Crew is in preschool and loves it. I can't believe he will be in Kindergarten next year!

Brady turns the BIG 40!

I can't believe my husband is 40! That just seems sooo old to me! :) Remember when you were 16 and 30 was old?? Where had the time gone??? Since I threw a big surprise party for him last year, I didn't quite know what to do for him this year. He was going to be out of town on his birthday, so the day before, Mitch and I decorated the yard for him. We waited until he feel asleep on Sunday night, and then out we snuck. It was all Jana's idea, she is so creative, shocking I know! I'll let you look at the pictures, it was pretty funny and yes he kept it up all day! He wouldn't have known it was me, except Mitch and I left the hammer in the yard!!! Needless to say he had a great birthday. I told him if he looks this good at 40, I can't wait to see what he looks like at 50!

Katelyn turns 7!

I can't believe my little girl is seven! Sunday was her birthday and all she wanted was a special dance with her dad! I shouldn't say all, of course she wanted other things, but one special request was a dance that she made up with her dad. She had a little girl party on Mon. and that was when they were to do their dance. As all her little friends got there, she had them all sit down to watch their dance. It was priceless! She has such a cute crush on her daddy. He had to lift her in the air and turn her around and all sorts of stuff. The last of the dance, he dipped her and kissed and all the little girls giggled. We had a flower party and everything was all flowers. We had a great time and the little girls were really cute. I try to be crafty at times and made the little flower pots that were on pioneer woman. They turned out really cute.

Twin Falls Temple

Last weekend we went to Twin Falls to go through the new temple. Our kids were so excited to go to the temple and see all the rooms there. It is so beautiful!! On our way down we explained and talked to them about the temple and what we do there. When we were in the Celestial room, they have you go in and stand there in silence so you can feel the Spirit there. As I put my arms around all of my children I was over come by the Spirit. It testified to me family is what it is all about. How grateful I am that to be sealed to my best friend and have our children sealed to us forever. There were three other ladies with us that were not LDS. They too felt the spirit as we were in the Celestial room. I looked at one of them and she was crying. I wonder how many people will be converted because of these great tours.

After the Temple, we went to see Shoshone Falls. It is about 3 miles from the Temple and we had never seen them. They were very impressive. We had a great time, one weekend I will never forget.
